WAFU-A U20 Women’s Tournament Guinea-Bissau 2026 New Focal Points Trained on Protection and Safeguarding in Guinea-Bissau
On the sidelines of the WAFU-A U20 Women’s Tournament, Guinea-Bissau 2026, a training session for approximately 20 participants from Guinea-Bissau football clubs was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the conference room of the 24 September National Stadium in Guinea-Bissau.

This initiative is part of WAFU-A’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the protection and safeguarding of vulnerable people within the football community, in accordance with the guidelines of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Football, as a universal sport, must be a safe space for all its participants, especially for young people and vulnerable individuals. This is why the WAFU-A, in collaboration with CAF, is implementing training programs to raise awareness and educate football stakeholders on best practices in player protection.
The session led by Ms. Fatou NDong, one of the Zone’s focal points, provided training to participants on protection and safeguarding.
